Featured in the painting is Chilesaurus Diegosuarezi. Fossils of this dinosaur were recently discovered in Chile by a 7 year old boy named Diego Suarez in 2004. I decided to drape this dinosaur with indigenous flowers and plants of Chile. This includes the Chilean Bellflower or “Copihue” - Chile’s national flower. The other plant is called Araucaria Araucana, which is just fun to say alone, or “Monkey Puzzle tree” also native to Chile.
